A small square with a free-standing open roof will be created between the church and Bahnhofstraße. There, existing activities such as the weekly market, the Christmas market, concerts, open-air cinema, flea market, summer festivals or similar events will find their now specially created place. The roof serves as weather protection in connection with all possible uses. It creates space and helps define the surrounding open spaces. The plaza is proposed with a non-sealed gravel surface in keeping with the existing. Two-sided seating and walking steps help to order the topography and clearly delineate the church courtyard. The library and its café are the central public use in the plaza. The book space is located under the lofty roof. Here one can find space for reading and working or for suitable events such as lectures, readings or even a concert. The small reading café on the first floor, designed to be self-operated, is laid out so that it could alternatively be served by an operator and have temporary capacity for events there or on the square. The separable space is also available independently of the library.
