"The supposed naturalness with which old and new enter into a successful liaison can be seen in the folded-out window front on the front side of the central corridor of the vertical extension. Developed in discussions with the client and monument preservation authorities and in many design alternatives, it takes up the façade axis of the administration building, which is twisted into the hall construction, and thereby decisively enlivens the extension. It elevates the extension to more than a pragmatic addition and shows that far more has been achieved here than just updating the existing building. It has not only been expanded spatially, but also in terms of its architectural vocabulary. In this mixture of respect for the existing building and self-confident updating, the courthouse will serve as a role model again in 2022 - and not only in Bavaria."
